Here are some reasons: All sites that would mention them as a way to get out of the firewall are blocked. So are most of the Google searches. Which URL are you typing in when you try to access Gmail? The URL on this page - www.mail.google.com - is actually incorrect, because the www. part is superfluous. I am getting here from Beijing via a proxy server.
